My name is Colby Hennigan and I am running for the District 3, DPEC seat in East Baton Rouge Parish. As a 28-year-old progressive Democrat, I believe in the potential of our state. I, like you all as citizens of Louisiana, have always marched to a unique beat, celebrating our one-of-a-kind culture and thriving on the opportunities of our local lagniappe. We have strived to be the light on the hill in the South, but recently that light has slowly begun to dim and I believe now is the time to take a stand and bring back our light! I grew up in North Louisiana, in the charming little town of Minden, LA. Upon graduating high school, I moved down to Central Louisiana to begin my higher education journey. I received my undergraduate degree in Public Administration from Louisiana College, and my graduate degree in Homeland Security from Northwestern State University. While I was obtaining my master's degree, I joined the U.S. Army ROTC program and ultimately commissioned as an officer in the United States Army in 2022. I have worked for over four years in the non-profit sector serving the children and families within the Louisiana Child Welfare Services. Today, I live in Baton Rouge, LA, and I am continuing to serve the families and children of Louisiana's Child Welfare Services. I serve as a Mobility Officer in the 342nd Movement Control Team out of Rouge, LA. I am an active volunteer with BR Pride and board member for Engage Louisiana. It is my passion to serve my community and see it thrive. I look forward to serving the Louisiana Democratic Party as your next District 3, DPEC member in EBR Parish.
